Applying behavioral sciences in the industry: who needs academics and why?
Kaan Varnalı, Ph.D., is a full time faculty member at the Faculty of Communication, Istanbul Bilgi University, where he teaches courses on consumer psychology, branding, advanced quantitative research methods, and digital product development. He had served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty for 6 years between 2010 and 2017. He is also the founding director of the Master Program in Marketing Communication (M.A.), known as "Marka Okulu" in the industry, a pioneering hybrid executive education program.
His academic research has appeared on several highly regarded academic journals such as the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Communication, Society, and International Journal of Information Management. He also authored three books, one of which is published by McGraw-Hill, NewYork. Alongside his academic research and teaching, Kaan Varnali has also been very active in the industry as a consultant, worked with BIST 100 companies to small start-ups, multinationals to non-profits, and is currently a partner and a board member of 4play Mobile Solutions.
